About Eastwood Kennel's facilities

As a State licensed facility, Eastwood is inspected by the Department of Agriculture on an announced and unannounced basis. We have always met or exceeded all standards of performance.

Boarding Facilities

The kennel building is heated and air-conditioned. Your dog will have full time choice of being out of doors or inside. To ensure personal attention and minimize kennel-stress, we board no more than two dogs at a time. Your dog will be afforded the same routine and facilities as our personal dogs. The individual kennels are designed to discourage occupants from elimination in them so that the dogs are never in a run with feces or urine. To maintain this high level of sanitation your dog will be frequently released into the fenced yard for exercise and play. Only dogs that have successfully completed an Eastwood program are accepted for boarding. This ensures that your dog is only associated with other mannerly dogs, precludes aggression, and allows reinforcement of obedience as a matter of normal routine.

Dogs that have graduated obedience courses will have also accomplished off-lead reliability. All obedience-trained dogs are allowed to join my personal dogs for off-lead excursions, and swims in the main lake. Your house-trained dog is eligible for boarding in our home at Eastwood.

Training Facilities

Eastwood Kennel is a one hundred acre facility with an indoor training area, a main lake, and two smaller ponds. Outdoor areas for obedience training consist of several acres of lawn, with a transition to lightly and heavily vegetated fields and woods. This provides you the opportunity for exposure to varying levels of off-lead training - - whether you live in an urban setting, or like to visit remote locations with a reliable, off lead-companion.
